I could use some winning, so thank you for this topic.

Patience is definitely something I need to work on. I’m the type of person that wants things to be different the moment I start something new. It’s not a reasonable expectation, but it’s a constant struggle for me to get through the starting period to the point where I actually see results.

Vanessa makes a great point about her dad telling her she could be anything, but it was up to her to actually believe it. As parents, we need to remember that it’s important to give that encouragement, but it’s equally as important (if not more so) to raise a person to believe in their heart that they can become whatever they want to be.

Loving and respecting others is proving difficult for our society these days. Even in good times, not everyone will do it, especially those who hold strongly to their biases. It makes it even that much more important to show love and respect to everyone you come across right now. It’s always important, but it’s needed now more than ever.
